never you mind, never you mind, never you mind,
ITS ENTERTAINING US for a while, just for a while, your crocodile smile now is fading - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Saturday was the best day of the week, in Flick Austin's opinion. She didn't have to get up early for school, or church, or anything else. Yet, she never slept in very late, and was always up by 9 and dressed, showered and ready to go anywhere by 10. That morning was no different. At just about nine, Flick's eyes flickered open to stare at the ceiling above her bed. Briar, her mother, always went on about how Flick would never be late for anything because she had what was called an 'internal clock'. Flick really couldn't disagree because from what she noticed about herself, it must have been true. She lay in her queen sized bed, the green and white designed sheets covering her legs and half her torso. The comforter had been kicked down to the bottom of the bed since it was to warm to use it. The nights were a bit cooler then the days, but it was still to warm to be swallowed by covers. Kicking the sheets off, she swung her legs out of bed and stood there for a moment. White and yellow boxers sat just above the middle of her theigh and a bright yellow tank top was what she wore on top. Grabbing a white cotton house robe from the chair at her desk, she walked out into the hallway as she pulled it on and tied it across her waist. Down the hall was a closet for towels for all the upstairs bathrooms. She opened it and looked for her set, that her mother had cleaned the night before, when suddenly she felt the familiar touch of fur on her bare legs. Looking down, she spotted Tugger, her fat cat. WIth a smile, Flick bent down and scooped him up in one arm, and rummaged for her towels with her free hand. Finding and grabbing them didn't take long, and she was back on her way to her bedroom where she dropped Tugger on the bed. Quickly, he curled up in a fat ball and fell asleep. Meanwhile, Flick made her way into her bathroom and set the towels on the counter before undressing and getting into the shower.
When she was finished, she came out into the steam filled bathroom. The mirror was fogged up so she couldn't even see herself. Wrapping one large towel around her body and one around her hair, she went back into her bedroom where Tugger still slept on the bed. Tugger had been a gift for her 15th birthday. He had been just a kitten back then, but now he was huge, only three years old. Flick had named him for a character in the broadway musical CATS, that she had also gone to see that birthday. Grabbing undergarments from her drawer, she slipt them on and threw the towel over the chair where her robe had been earlier. She searched her closet for clothes and decided on white skinny jeans and a green tank top. No doubt it would be warm outside just like any other day. With the white towel still around her head, she went back into the bathroom and wiped the mirror off so she could see herself. Since the room was still filled with steam, she leaned over the counter to crack open the privacy window. That was much better, now the steam could get out. Taking the towel from her head she turned on the blow drier and started at her hair. Once finished, she applied a bit of makeup and went back into her room. She pulled on the jeans and tank and looked at herself in the mirror. Not too bad, she shrugged. Leaving her room, she trotted down the stairs right into the kitchen. Her two dogs, Fletch and Friday, were waiting for her, tails wagging. Friday was a female black lab, the newest addition. Fletch was her husky that she had gotten when she turned ten. Pulling out their food, she filled each dish and returned the bag to it's spot under the counter. Then she grabbed a pen and paper to leave her mother a note. Her parents always seemed to sleep in until at least 11 on Saturdays.
Gone for a drive, will be back later. Love you all!
She smiled, thinking of her mom, dad and the baby that was yet to be born. Then she grabbed her keys from the bowl on the counter and went to her car. The car had been a gift for her eighteenth birthday from her parents. They hadn't gotten her one for her sixteenth because they said she wasn't going anywhere. She practiced driving on her father's car, and had only gotten her own at the beginning of the month. But she already loved it to death. She got in and started it up, plugging her Zune MP3 into the car stereo to listen too. She didn't have a plan on where to go, but would drive until she knew. Driving through the streets, she sang along with her music. Her passion to be a singer was strong, and she felt empowered by singing. As she passed the coffee shop, she parked on the side of the road and went in to buy a tea, then came back to her car, deciding to drive over to the park.
Upon arriving, she grabbed her Zune, headphones and tea, and locked the car. Her favourite part was under a tree in the middle of the field. Even though she was scared to get grass stains on her new white jeans, she carefully sat down and put in her headphones, leaning against the tree for support. It was such a sunny and warm day, it felt good to be under the shade of the tree. Streching out her legs, she crossed one over the other and leaned her head back, closing her eyes.

Tidal waves they, rip right through me. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Jay's eyes opened slowly. Slowly seemed to be the operative word whenever he woke up. He just wasn't very good at it. As his brain began to unscramble, it told him exactly what he should do to rectify the situation. Go back to sleep! Never one to disobey a direct order, Jay rolled back over and closed his eyes. About thirty seconds later one eye, his left as it happened, opened again. His brother was standing at the foot of his bed. Jay sat up slightly, rubbing a bit of that nasty crusty stuff from his eye. "Jamie what the hell do you want?" His twelve year old brother gave him an evil grin. "Nothing...I'm doig a school project. The sleeping pattern of monkeys." With that fantasticaly witty remark, Jamie cackled and ran off. Jay groaned and fell back onto his bed. After another ten minutes of atttempted sleep he finally decided to get up. As he threw the cover off and looked down he realised he was only wearing boxers. He contemplated throwing something else on, but decided that if Jamie was going to wake him up, then he should pay the price. So he trudged downstairs in his boxers, his skinny frame on show, and found the expected note. Have gone to work. Why not go out today? Love you. Mom. Jay grimaced, screwing the note up and tossing it in the bin. As he turned around to grab some cereal Jamie wandered into the kitchen. "Jay will you fix me some break- Ewww...you're naked" Once again following his annoncement, Jamie ran back out. Jay rolled his eyes, and pourced the cereal into a bowl, then splashed some milk onto it. He took and and sat in front of the TV, looking at the time as he did so. A quarter past bloody eight?! Jamie had woken him at about half seven. What kind of evil child does that?! Jay thought about his mom's note as he ate, some mindless chat show coming out of the TV. Maybe he should go out today. He was starting college in a few days, and he'd barely seen anyone who looked college age. It was the first time he could remember he'd put off meeeting someone new. He shook his head, then wandered upstairs, and jumped in the shower. Just before he got under, he realised it'd take ages to do his hair properly. he'd washed it last night, so he didn't bother this morning, keeping it as dry as possible. He got out, wrapped a towell round himself, and went over to his draws. He chose a pair of star covered boxers, and then opened his wardrobe doors. Criminal damage skinny jeans, and a tight blue T-shirt, with the Super man logo on the chest. He walked back downstairs and called to jamie. "Jamie I'm going out. If you get in trouble call Mom. Or my cell..." he added, slipping his new Nokia 5800 into his pocket. He'd only had it two weeks, but he loved it. He put some red hi-top Converse on, adding to the variety of colours already on his thin frame, and headed outside. He walked over to his car, a mini, one of the old ones. He loved it, and it was about the only thing he had that he took decent care of. He jumped in, started it up, put his sunglasses on, and started to pull away. He stopped just before he actually pulled out, and pllugged his phone into the stereo. He flicked through until he found the song he wanted, Stay Captive by Still remains. As he drove he sung along with it. Once he got into the middle of town, he had a quick look around, then decided he fancied going over to the park. He went and parked up, and flung the door open. Before he got out, he unplugged his phone and stuck it in his pocket. As a last minute decision he also popped his camera in the other pocket. You never knew... As he walked in, he took off his sunglasses, attatching them to the collar of his T-shirt by pushing one arm of them down his top. As he surveyed the field, one person caught his eye. A girl, sitting in the middle of the field. She looked pretty damn hot, but he realised that there'd be no way of approaching her without it being obvious that's what he was doing. In the end he decided for the direct approach. He walked straight towards her, exuding the confidence he knew he had. As he got close he realised she had headphones in, and grimaced. He just hoped she'd hear. He got near her and smiled, hoping to catch her eye... - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Lyrics: Blink 182- Down Word cound: 795...Not quite as much Post status: Done

never you mind, never you mind, never you mind,
ITS ENTERTAINING US for a while, just for a while, your crocodile smile now is fading - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - The shade of the tree certainly was better then sitting out in the sun. As much as she loved the sun, her skin burned pretty easily and she hadn't taken any precautions today. It hadn't been her plan to go to the park, so she made sure to sit in the shade. Red wasn't a flattering skin colour on her. Flick picked up her tea, and took a sip. It was a peppermint tea, and was delicious. She had started drinking tea in grade 8, and had never stopped since then. It was almost like an addiction. Every morning and every night, there was a cup of tea glued to her hand. The song on her Zune changed to Never Again by the Midway State. They were a good band, with catchy songs. Licking her lips, she set the tea down beside her again and listened to the song play out.
A small kid came running past her, chasing after a frisbee. She opened one eye to look at the child, who was chased by a dog. The much bigger dog bounded by the boy and grabbed the frisbee. In turn, the boy jumped on the dog, non stop giggling coming from his mouth. Flicker smiled and closed her eye again. She couldn't wait until her sibling was born. Girl or boy, she would love the kid, and couldn't wait until they were old enough to play with her and the animals she had. Both dogs were really gentle and playful, the cat was fat and shy and the rabbit was, well, the same as most rabbits. And the dogs really loved kids, but she wouldn't let them near the baby too soon, as they could be quite playful and roudy.
The song ended, and she opened her big brown eyes to pick up the Zune and pick a new song. Bohemian Like You by the Dandy Warhols came on and she shrugged and set the music player back down to exchange it for her tea. As she went back to lean her head against the tree and close her eyes, a boy walking towards where she sat caught her eye. It was someone she had never seen before, which made her curious. He came towards her and smiled, and she smiled in return, then reached up to remove her headphones and dropped them on her lap. If anything, Flick was friendly, and loved meeting new people. The first thing she really noticed about the guy was his eyes. They brilliant, she had to admit. She couldn't quite put her finger on the colour. Green? No, blue? Maybe a mixture of both. "Hey," she said confidently with a friendly smile.
As she eyed him slightly, she came to the conclusion that she had in fact never met or seen this guy before. Maybe he was new in town? Flick could recgonize most of the people from the area quite quickly. Whether they went to her school, lived around her or were friends of people she knew. She may not know everyone personally, but knew most faces. This guy looked pretty confident, or at least friendly, since he didn't seem to have a problem approaching her. Flick didn't mind at all, and continued to look up at him. She was sitting, after all. But even if she hadn't been, there was no way she was as tall as this guy. Flick stood at 5'5. A shortie compared to most. And she was lean and thin, which made her appear smaller as well.

Tidal waves they, rip right through me.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Just before the girl spoke, Jay noticed her smiling at a small kid playing with his dog. Jay enjoyed trying to figure people out, so he tried to work out what this meant. He eventually came to the conclusion that she had a little brother...maybe sister. And pets. And she was thinking of them playing together. Jay could picture the girl sitting in the same position as she was now, but in her own home, maybe watching a small child fighting with the dog. Or maybe she was thinking back to how she used to be. Childhood memories were fun to drop back to now and then. It didn't hurt to remember. Unless of course there was something you didn't want to remember. Or maybe, and this was the one he didn't want to be true. Maybe she had lost sibling. Some accident or illness or other, and she was hiding sadness behind the smile. In the end he decided it was probably none of his business. Sometimes Jay wished that he had a pet. But then again it probably wouldn't last very long, seeing as how Jay could barely take care of himself, let alone an animal. He'd need something low maintenance, he mused to himself. Maybe a cactus. Then a perculiar smell hit his nostrils. It smelt like...it smelt like someone had boiled a polo mint. He wrinkled his nose up at the smell, not because he didn't like it, but because it was the kind of smell that really hit your nose. He looked at the cup she had next to her. It must have been soe sort of mint drink. Jay didn't know much about exotic drinks...he wasn't much of an explorer when it came to food and drink. He only puked them back up again later. He wondered how a small cup of tea could produce enough aroma for him to smell it, although he was only about a meter away now. Jay took it as a good sign that she took her headphones out and smiled at him. He tried to gauge how old she was. Nineteen maybe? His age. Maybe she went to the college. But, first things first, he needed somewhere to park his ass. He had assumed she'd taken her headphones out so that he could say whatever it was she assumed he was going to say. But she spoke first. She was friendly. Sociable people really were the best type. He smiled again, only this time a charm filled one. Well she was hot. "Hey there." he said. Seemed like a good start. Then, talking as though he had known her his whole life he continued. "Seeing as how you appear to have the best shad in the whole park, I was wondering if you would mind if i pulled up a...well, if I sat down." he finished, grinning. While he waited for her to reply he looked her over a little more carefully. She looked like a fairly small girl, pale like he was, and very attractive. She also had big brown eyes. Jay liked big brown eyes. And the tank top suited her, the colour of it perfectly complimenting her eyes. As he waited for her to reply, he twidled the rings in his lip around. This was the only way that he ever expressed any slight nerves. It took a very seasoned friend to notice it. As he heard another giggle his eyes flicked up. They landed on the boy playing with his dog. The kid even looked a little like Jay;s own brother. Maybe he shouldn't have left him alone. Although he always did back in michegan. Nah, he'd be fine. Although it couldn't hurt to drop him a text. After of course, his eyes flicked back to the girl, he had got to know her a little better. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Lyrics: Blink 182- Down Word cound: 666...the number of the beast. never you mind, never you mind, never you mind,
ITS ENTERTAINING US for a while, just for a while, your crocodile smile now is fading - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Flick watched the boy as he greeted her, still seeming friendly enough. 'Seeing as how you appear to have the best shad in the whole park, I was wondering if you would mind if i pulled up a...well, if I sat down.' A bit of light laughter escaped from Flick, and she nodded. "Sure, I don't mind sharing," she told him with a smile. The tea was in her hand again, as she moved slightly to the side. She didn't want to move and knock it over, so once she was finished, she set it back down beside her. The tree was huge, and did provide a lot of shade. The trunk of it alone was big enough for both of them to sit under. If two people were to try and wrap their arms around it, they might not even reach each other's hands. There were several other trees that were big like this, but this one was her favourite. It was practically in the middle of a flat field, and looked slightly out of place. There were a few smaller trees that looked like they had just been planted, but they were quite farther off. She reached for her pink coloured Zune and turned it off, figuring she didn't need it anymore, and it would be rude to put her headphones back in. Wrapping them up, she set it beside her tea on the grass and waited for him to sit down.
When introducing herself, Flick often got weird looks. It was something she grown used to by now. Flick loved her name, it was sp unique. Honestly, she hadn't ever met someone with the same name as her. As she remembered it, she was pretty sure that in the kid's movie 'A Bug's Life' the character's name was Flick. Often younger kids asked her if that's why that was her name. Briar, her mother, had always said she just wanted something different for her little girl, because she was so special. Flick doubted she got it from a children's movie. Her mom had been sixteen at the time, maybe she just thought it would be a cool idea. The brunette didn't regret that though, she loved having her own special name that no one else had. The looks people gave were annoying at times, but she didn't mind. "I'm Flick by the way," she told him once he had sat down. As always, she was prepared for any weird looks or questions about her name.
Picking up her tea, she took another quick sip. It was still quite hot, and burned slightly as it flowed down her throat. She was used to the hotness of the tea now, since she had been drinking it for what seemed like forever. It was the smell that got her. The pepermint was super strong. It was a flavour her fellow Youth Group leader had introduced her too a week ago, and she was still amazed by it. It tasted so good and smelt so strong. The guy beside her could probably smell it too she guessed. He looked about the same age as her from what she could tell. Looking over, she saw his eyes on the child that had been playing near by. She too glanced back to the small boy who was laughing up a storm as the dog jumped on him, pushing him to the ground. She would have been concerned, but right away the dog started to like his face happily.
Turning back to him, she raised an eyebrow. "I hope you don't mind my asking, but ... are you new to Salt Lake?" she inquired. It was a straight forward question, and she had come right out an asked right away. She hoped he wouldn't find her rude for doing so, but she was curious, and it was converstation. She felt pretty certain in saying that he must be.

Tidal waves they, rip right through me.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Sure, I don't mind sharing." Jay's smile got broader. "Thanks very much," he said grinning. He sat down slowly, making sure to sit straight down rather than scraping along the floor. He'd have got his jeans all marked if he'd done that. He finally got comfortable, then pulled his legs up, hugging them, chin resting on his knees. He glanced sideways at the girl, hoping to see some sign that she would be starting up a conversation rather than popping her headphones back in and sitting there. Jay hated silences.
Just before he could open his mouth to say something, she spoke. "I'm Flick by the way." Jay smirked. Although his wasn't the most common of names, he'd never before met a flick. The name was unnusual sure, but it rolled off the tongue quite well. It seemed like a pretty good name actually. "Hey there Flick," he said, still grinning like a mad man. "Is that like, short for something, or a nickname?" He used his tongue to roll the ring inside the hole in his lip. Not a sign of nervousness now, but showing he was comfortable. "Oh," he exclaimed, remembereing his manners. "My name's Jacoby, but all friends, love interests, and pretty girls call me Jay." He smiled at her, a charming, flirty smile. I mean yeah he'd only just met the girl, but she was pretty, and Jay just couldn't resist. "I'd say you can definately call me Jay," he finished with a wink.
He wondered it this was maybe too forward. He didn't know what girls were like around here. Ah well, he'd said it now. If he had to, he could apologise, claiming being dazzled by her beauty, or something like that. Girls liked to hear things like that.
He was brought out of his deep thoughts by her voice again."...are you new to Salt Lake?" Jay smiled. It seemed to come naturally. Maybe it was salt Lake...or Flick? He had wondered how he'd cope with any 'new boy attention'. But then it occured to him that attention was attention, and he'd lap it up whatever the reason. "Yep...just call me the new guy." It was ever so obvious that she wasn't new to Salt Lake. The way she handled herself, this was clearly her territory.
Jay decided to try and find out a little about her, and if his earlier hunch was correct. "So now it's my turn right? To ask a question." Jay didn't bother waiting for a reply- he didn't usually- and launched straight into his question. "Do you go to the college? I'm starting there soon see, well as soon as i can be bothered to drag my ass down there, and I was wondering if I could hope to see your pretty face?" Forward? Yes. Over the top? Uhuh. But that's just the way Jay was. Was was life if you llived half-heartedly anyway? Boring that's what. He spun his lip rings again, another nervous sign agian, wondering how she'd react to his rather blatent flirting.

never you mind, never you mind, never you mind,
ITS ENTERTAINING US for a while, just for a while, your crocodile smile now is fading - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - The dark haired guy greeted her by name, and she looked to him sweetly. Then came a question, which was natural. It was a common one, and he hadn't been rude when asking it. Flick honestly didn't mind. It was the rude people that mad her mad. 'Is that like, short for something, or a nickname?' She smiled silently, before shaking her head. "No," she admitted with a shrug. "Just Flick," she concluded, before taking another quick sip of her peppermint tea. 'My name's Jacoby, but all friends, love interests, and pretty girls call me Jay.' She nodded slowly, taking it in. So what was she going to call him? She wasn't exactly a friend, or a love interest. As if to read her mind, he answered the question in her head. 'I'd say you can definately call me Jay.' Flick couldn't help but blush lightly, she was a very modest girl. Smiling widely, she looked at her toes, then back to him. "Thanks. Jay," she added with a grin. "Nice to meet you."
She picked up her tea for what seemed like the thousandth time in the last minute, and took a small sip. It was more then half way finished by now. 'Yep...just call me the new guy.' Flick smiled, not really knowing what to say. She had never been the new kid, having lived in Salt Lake all her life. That didn't bother her. SLC was her home, and she didn't really want to leave. A lot of teens couldn't wait to ditch their parents, but Flick wasn't like that. Without her parents, she wouldn't be here in the first place. She loved them, and they loved her. Going to university close to home would be good as well, because she could live with her family. Besides, she didn't want to leave just after the birth of her new sibling. No, she would want to stay and live with them, help them to grow up and of course, help out her folks.
'So now it's my turn right? To ask a question.' Flick looked up at him, slightly wide eyed, then grinned. It was, in fact, his turn. If you looked at it that way. Her head motioned up and down. 'Do you go to the college? I'm starting there soon see, well as soon as i can be bothered to drag my ass down there, and I was wondering if I could hope to see your pretty face?' Bitting her lip, she shook her head. "Sorry," she told him apoleogetically. "I'm still in my last year of high school," she frowned. But she realized what he had said at the last part, and couldn't help but smile as she tilted her head slightly down. Flick couldn't help it, he was making her turn pink. It was true to say she was slightly embarassed, but she did enjoy it somewhat. No one around the town ever flirted with her really. It was just something she wasn't used too. "But hey, we can still hang out if you want," she offered with a smile, looking back to him. Flick wasn't look for anything from Jay, but maybe if he wanted to hang, they could be friends or something? She figured once he got to know others, he wouldn't need to hang out with her though. He was a year older, and would probably have girls swooning over him. He wouldn't need Flick, but she didn't care, she would be his friend if he wanted her to be.

Tidal waves they, rip right through me. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Jay smiled widely, almost laughing as she looked down after his comment about his name. "Nice to meet you." Jay smirked slightly and put on his best posh accent. "How delightful to meet you miss Flick."
He watched her pick her tea up again, and take another sip. Damn it must taste good. Jay was more one for just a bottle of water. Totally bare of any fat...or anything really. Maybe fruit juice sometimes. He suddenly realised, with a hint of annoyance, that he'd left his water in the car. He was annoyed at this, seeing as it was a fairly sunny day, and he was gonna end up getting thristy. He contemplated going back to the car, but he enjoyed sitting here, and Flick seemed like a nice girl, and she was good company.
"Sorry. I'm still in my last year of high-school." Jay's mouth dropped open. "But you look...well, older." He found it difficult to believe that she was only in high-school. He turned to her and grinned. "And you're not just saying that to fend me off?" he said. But then she said that they could hang out anyway. "Yeah I'd like that," Jay smiled. "You can be my only friend." He looked down at the superman symbol on his T-shirt. "Well every super-hero should have a side-kick. If you're desperate you can even be the superhero." Jay liked the way that it was easy to make Flick blush, and she looked kinda cute when she did blush. "Honestly Flick, you'd be by far the cutest side-kick going." She probably thought that he was a total man-whore. He'd only known her about six minutes, if that, and here he was flirting like there was no tomorrow. Still there was no law against it.
Jay thought back to the first time he'd met his old best friend, Sarah. It had been a situation a bit like this, whle Jay was still the new kid, and he'd seen her sitting out in a field, or something like that. She'd been a bit like Flick, he mused, although less blushing. But that could have been because Jay was less flirty back then. Although it could have been because Flick seemed very easy to force into lushing. She turned quite a nice shade of pink. In fact this opinion seemed worth voicing. "Has anyone ever told you that you blush the cutest shade of pink?" he asked smirking.
Then a thought struck him. He tried to pose his question casually. "Ummm...Do you go to one of the churches round here or anything? Just, apparantly there are quite a few sort of...religious people round Salt-Lake, and I was just...wondering about it," he finished weakly. Well that was inconspicous, he thought sarcasticly.
He watched her pick her tea up again, and take another sip. Damn it must taste good. Jay was more one for just a bottle of water. Totally bare of any fat...or anything really. Maybe fruit juice sometimes. Jay wasn't one for being reserved, just cos he'd just met someone, and the worst she could do was say no. "Before you answer though, I'm not going to ask a really rude question. Could I maybe try just a little bit of that tea? I presume it is tea? Just...well i can smell it from here, and it smells quite good.

never you mind, never you mind, never you mind,
ITS ENTERTAINING US for a while, just for a while, your crocodile smile now is fading - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Flick smiled and nodded her head in agreement, grinning at his posh accent. The grin widdened as he's mouth practically hung open. 'But you look...well, older.' The delicate sound of her laugh broke out as she nodded. "I do get that a lot," she admitted. 'And you're not just saying that to fend me off?' Smiling, she shook her head. He was flirting with her quite a bit, something she wasn't used too, but she wasn't fending him off either. It was innocent enough, nothing that made her uncomfortable. Jay just seemed like a forward guy. 'You can be my only friend.' Shaking her head, she frowned playfully. "Hey now, I'm sure you'll have tons of friends!" she assured him with a smile. 'Well every super-hero should have a side-kick. If you're desperate you can even be the superhero. Honestly Flick, you'd be by far the cutest side-kick going.' Flick, in turn, looked at his shirt as well, where a Superman symbol was brightly shown. The pink colour in her cheeks remained as she smiled. "Sidekick works for me, believe it or not. I wouldn't make a good super hero," she laughed, brushing her hair from her face. "And thank you," she added with a grin. "You make a pretty fine superhero yourself."
'Has anyone ever told you that you blush the cutest shade of pink?' Her head turned to look at him again, and she could feel the colour in her cheeks as she shook her head with a small smile. "No, I haven't heard that before. You just think I'm adorable, don't you?" she laughed, brushing her hair from her face again as a breeze blew by gently. Jay commented how she was the 'cutest' twice in the last two minutes, and she found it pretty funny. No one ever took the time to flirt with Flick. Of course, all the male friends she had knew her too well to do so, or so she figured. And lots of them were already involved. It never bothered her, she didn't need attention to survive.
'Ummm...Do you go to one of the churches round here or anything? Just, apparantly there are quite a few sort of...religious people round Salt-Lake, and I was just...wondering about it.' Flick looked back to the dark haired boy, who's eyes she still couldn't decide on the colour. 'Before you answer though, I'm not going to ask a really rude question. Could I maybe try just a little bit of that tea? I presume it is tea? Just...well i can smell it from here, and it smells quite good.' Flick raised an eyebrow and looked down at the tea in her hand. It did smell quite good. She glanced at him, and considered it. There wasn't really a reason why not. "Sure, it's almost gone. If you like it you can finish it," she agreed, passing it over to him."And yeah, there are," she started with a shrug. "I go to one of the local churches every Sunday and to youth group every Friday night," she told him with a small smile. Flick wondered if Jay was looking for a church to attend around here, or if he wasn't religious at all. "You?" she asked in return.
